WATER SANITATION AND HYGIENE (WaSH)
Achievements:
- Purchase and installation of 3 Gensets
- Installation of elevated steel tower tank of 50,000 litres and reticulation system of 1 km
- Construction of steel towers and installation of 10,000 litres tanks in 7 boreholes
- Rehabilitation of 13 animal troughs in 6 boreholes
- Reticulation system and repair work of the leaking pipelines in 7 boreholes
- Solarisation of 3 boreholes
•Water quality testing in all the boreholes to find suitability for human consumption
•Water trucking in (Fatuma nur, Darisalam, Welahir, Shanta-Abaq, Tabarak and Tafakur) in Wajir West. (Yaqo, El-yunis, and horate) in Eldas, (Burder, Sukela, Machesa, Warabalcad and Laladha) in Wajir South.
•Construction of water drawing points in 8 boreholes
- Rehabilitation 6 masonry tanks
- Procurement and distribution of hygiene kits for 400 adult school going girls.
- Hygiene education in all the WASH sites (13 sites)
- Training of water management committees
